The Four Seasons Design Group is proud of its Heritage Museum Replicas, Silver Seasons, Table Art, and Erté "Art to Wear" collections.
We are a family manufacturing business that has been producing high quality jewelry and objets for museums, galleries, fine jewelers and specialty retailers for 35 years. Our skilled craftsmen are experienced in gold, sterling silver, bronze, brass, pewter and other fine and exotic metals. In addition, our proprietary formulas and unusual finishes enable us to service all facets of the industry. We produce all aspects of casting, production and finishing in our 10,000 square foot facility in Bellmore, New York located on the south shore of Long Island. This enables us to execute superior quality control and expedient and flexible product development. All of the stone setting, hand enameling and assembly are also done on our premises. We say with pride, Made in America.
We work very closely with museums around the world and many of our designs and reproduction pieces are created through licensing agreements with museums and other institutions. The royalty proceeds from our sales are an important source of revenue for these institutions and it is a way in which we are pleased to give back to the art and historical community. Each piece is accompanied by an informative text card, which describes the design source or, the historical and cultural provenance of the original design. We are very proud of our association with museums such as the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum in Florida, the Israel Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Seattle Art Museum, the Mount Vernon Ladies Association and, the Royal Ontario Museum in Canada. We welcome the opportunity to work with museums and institutional sources to create exceptional original designs, adaptations and reproductions.
In 1991 the Heritage Museum Replicas collection was created as an extension of the family business and is a member of the Museum Store Association. Designer and model maker Barbara Rothstein, and our experienced staff of production experts, work with museum curators and merchandisers to recreate jewelry from many origins. Inspiration comes from actual artifacts, graphic images and related design sources. Our extensive "Tiffany" collection from the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum and the "Gilded Age" suites from the Cleveland Museum of Art are examples of our classic, distinctive designs. HMR is manufactured in a variety of materials including 18kt. and 14kt. gold, sterling silver, vermeil, brass and pewter.
In 1995 designer Michael Michaud joined the Four Seasons Design Group with his Silver Seasons collection of jewelry. Entering the industry in 1973 as an apprentice mold cutter, Michael quickly mastered the skills and techniques he uses today to capture all the beauty and exquisite detail of nature in metal. Also working closely with museums he has created beautiful nature designs like the Wisteria collection for the National Gallery of Art, Juniper for the Washington National Cathedral, Cherries for George Washington's Mount Vernon and Resurrection Fern for the Historic Museum of New Orleans. Using a variety of materials, the collection is produced in bronze, sterling silver and gold metals and utilizes freshwater pearls, precious and semi precious stones and hand formed glass beads.
Our home accessories division had its beginnings in 1999. In 2003 we took the best from this division and combined those designs with some frames, letter openers and tabletop from Silver Seasons and created the Table Art collection. Produced primarily in pewter, the collection is comprised of frames, napkin rings, candleholders, found words, desk accessories and much more for the home or office. The Water Lilies ensemble was designed in conjunction with The Art Institute of Chicago.
In 2002 the Four Seasons Design Group obtained the license to produce the Erté "Art to Wear" jewelry collection. Out of production for nearly a decade, this collection of Limited Edition, signed pieces is the culmination of Erté's distinguished career. Starting out as an independent couturier and costume and set designer, he then went on to create covers for 240 Harper's Bazaar magazines. His sculptures, lithographs, serigraphs and gouaches have been on exhibit throughout the world in such venues as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Louvre and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. In 1979 at the age of 86, he entered the world of jewelry with his "Art to Wear" fine jewelry collection.
